I do but at the moment I'm not taking any on. As this is an old comment though (sorry for taking so long to answer) hopefully you already found someone to realise your world for you.

This map really stood out amongst those featured at the guild, and I love what I can see of the style - but if you'll forgive me for saying (and assuming dA isn't simply hiding the link from me), I'd have liked to see more detail. Understandable if you can only post a lower-res preview as part of the brief, of course. :)

Thank you.

I've kept the upload of this small on here as it was done as a commission. I posted a larger version over on the Cartographer's Guild forum (still only 50% size of original but about twice as big as this one). So if you're really interested you might like to head on over there and do a search for it. :)

I have no problem with it Ramah. You deserve to make some cash from your work. Don't sweat it (unless it really bothers you).

It does actually kinda bother me but if you are ok with it I'll leave it for now. I seriously doubt anyone ever buys these kind of prints but it is the principle that bothers me. I wish there was just a "Remove Print" option but zzzzzz. Anyway, cheers.

Hey Ramah, long time no chat hope things have been going well for you. Glad to see that this work has continued to bring you the respect that you very much deserve!

A quick reminder to folks that this map wasn't done without purpose. It's actually a map for a roleplaying game called World of Lykarnia. It is soon to be released in print! Look out for it at [link]!

Hey Keith, glad to see you on here. I was hoping you would stumble across this. :)

I do feel I ought to explain though, my noobness on this site made me put up my first images incorrectly and so consequently this is open for purchasing as a print which I did not intend. I have searched and searched but I cannot see a way to remove this without perhaps deleting the image and re-uploading correctly, which seems a shame to lose comments and how does it affect the people who have faved it or the features it's been linked with?

Has anybody who is reading this any idea how to remove the print option?

Amazing! I didn't look to see the name and when I saw the larger image of the map, I was befuddled on how technical excellence such as this could evolve in a vacuum. You continue to inspire Ramah. Check back on cartographer's guild for my latest homage to your original masterpiece.

I try but more good stuff gets done than I ever get to see, especially if it's not associated with a monthly challenge.

This is wonderful! I adore the colours on it, and the old ancient map feel it has, though may I ask how you did those mountains?

Thanks Huknar.

The mountains are all simply hand drawn and then had the blend modes played around with.
I wrote a simple tutorial for the Cartographer's Guild here:

This uses the hills as an example but the mountains were done in pretty much the same way.

Hope this helps.

Wow - this is by far one of the nicest fantasy maps I've come across on dA.

Did you use any textures for the large swaths of forest, etc.?

Thank you. :)

Nope, no textures used. I just used a single tree brush for both types of forest and then monkeyed around with the layers quite extensively.

Hey DJ, thanks for the welcome.

And such praise from the person I consider to be the jewel in the crown of the CG forum is most gratefully accepted. :)
